Supermarkets Costa Blanca Easter 2026: Who is open when

Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays - many markets remain closed. Easter Sunday is not a public holiday, but is also restricted.
Around Easter, the usual routine shifts on the Costa Blanca. While Semana Santa dominates public life in many places, shopping becomes a practical question: when is it still open - and where is it even worth going?.
A clear pattern emerges: there are no standardised opening hours, but differences depending on the chain, format and location.

Supermarket opening hours Costa Blanca: Maundy Thursday and Holy Saturday

Maundy Thursday (2 April 2026) is the most important shopping day before the public holidays. Large chains such as Carrefour, Mercadona, Lidl, Aldi, Consum and Masymas open largely as normal, sometimes with shortened opening hours in the afternoon.
Holy Saturday (4 April) will also be normal: most supermarkets along the Costa Blanca will be open as usual.

Good Friday and Easter Monday: which supermarkets are closed

On the two public holidays - Good Friday (3 April) and Easter Monday (6 April) - the offer is significantly reduced.
Large chains such as Mercadona and Carrefour (hypermarkets) will remain closed, as will the majority of Lidl and Aldi shops. Consum and Masymas are also expected to close or shorten their opening hours in many places.

Easter Sunday Costa Blanca: Which supermarkets are open

Although Easter Sunday (5 April) is not a public holiday, it is often treated similarly in retail.
Many large supermarkets remain closed, while smaller markets and individual locations are open - usually with limited hours.

Holy Saturday: regularly open

Shopping centres as well as Müller and Rossmann at Easter

There is no uniform regulation for shopping centres.
While many retail outlets will remain closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, catering and leisure facilities will continue to operate. Easter Sunday is handled differently depending on the location.

Shopping Easter Costa Blanca: What's important now

The two reliable days for larger purchases remain Maundy Thursday and Holy Saturday. In between, the offer is significantly reduced, with individual exceptions depending on the location.
