Day trips from Dénia: Out and about with SonnenZeit

Day trips from Dénia: Out and about with SonnenZeit

Xàtiva, the Canelobre Caves, Villajoyosa or Formentera: SonnenZeit organises day trips from Dénia by coach, with a fixed itinerary and a German-speaking tour guide – for anyone who wants to explore special destinations in the region and beyond in comfort.

Some destinations have been practically on our doorstep for years – and yet we’ve never actually been there. For many people, Xàtiva is one such place. The same goes for the Canelobre Caves near Busot, or places that you’d usually just drive past rather than stop at.

Anyone who lives on the Costa Blanca permanently or for extended periods is particularly familiar with this phenomenon. Even for a day trip, you suddenly find yourself having to plan a route, look for a car park, book a guided tour and organise the return journey.

SonnenZeit Ausflüge takes care of exactly this sort of organisation. The tours start in Dénia, visit various destinations in the region and beyond, and return to the starting point on the same day. Participants travel by coach, the itinerary is set in advance, and the tour is guided in German.

Join in rather than organise it yourself

The advantage of this concept lies not so much in visiting destinations that one could not reach on one’s own. Rather, it is about not having to plan the trip oneself for a change.

Depending on the tour, guided tours, admission fees or meals are already included in the programme. At the same time, some excursions allow time for you to explore the destination at your own pace.

One example is the trip to Busot and Villajoyosa on 23 September 2026. The programme begins with a visit to the Canelobre Caves, led by a German-speaking tour guide. After lunch together, the tour continues to Villajoyosa, where there will be time for you to explore at your leisure.

The price currently quoted is 95 euros per person, including VAT. According to the organiser, this includes the coach transfer, a three-course meal with a drink, admission fees, a tour guide and tips.

Xàtiva, Formentera and other destinations

The rest of the autumn programme also shows that SonnenZeit does not limit its day trips to the traditional coastal destinations.

On 9 September 2026, we’ll be heading to Xàtiva. The plan is to visit the castle and go on a guided tour of the town.

Formentera is on the itinerary for 7 October 2026.

Participants take the ferry from Dénia to the island, where they go on a coach tour. SonnenZeit is currently quoting a price of 130 euros per person for this day trip.

Further trips have already been announced, although some are still in the planning stage. These include a visit to the Santa Maria de la Valldigna monastery in Simat on 21 October, a guided tour with wine tasting at Celler del Roure in Moixent on 11 November, a visit to Bioparc Valencia on 25 November, and a trip to Alicante on 9 December.

The programme therefore ranges from history and culture to nature, wine and excursions beyond the immediate Costa Blanca area.

Just as interesting for residents as it is for visitors

People who live on the Costa Blanca usually don’t need a tour operator to get to Villajoyosa or Xàtiva. Nevertheless, an organised day trip can be handy, especially for residents.

No one has to drive themselves, look up parking facilities or organise opening times and tickets. What’s more, you can get background information in German and spend the day with other participants.

Even if you live alone or are travelling, you can join a ride without having to organise your own group first.

The fixed departure and return point in Dénia makes this option particularly appealing to people who live in the north of the Costa Blanca or are staying there for an extended period.

Dates, prices and booking

SonnenZeit publishes details of its current day trips on its own website. The website also lists the exact itinerary, the services included and the price of each trip.

In accordance with the published terms and conditions, a minimum of 20 participants is required for the trip to go ahead. If this number is not reached by no later than one week before the start of the trip, the trip may be cancelled. In this case, any travel fees already paid will be refunded.

As individual dates and programmes are still subject to change, we recommend checking the latest event details before booking.
