Kathmandu Albir - Nepalese-Indian cuisine Costa Blanca

Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword, but part of everyday life – here on the Costa Blanca too. Between Dénia and Villajoyosa, it is clear how seriously the entire region now takes this issue: farmers are switching to organic farming, local authorities are investing in water recycling, solar energy and the circular economy, and more and more consumers are opting for regional products and sustainable mobility. Over the last ten years, there have been visible changes in Marina Alta and Marina Baixa. Organic farming areas are growing, energy communities are emerging, and cities are developing concrete climate plans that go beyond symbolic politics. The change is particularly tangible in the way resources – water, energy and land – are used: consciously, efficiently and with a long-term perspective. At the same time, attitudes towards consumption and tourism are changing. Whether it's weekly markets, direct marketing or sustainable accommodation, there is a growing awareness that regionality and responsibility go hand in hand. Tourism is also increasingly focusing on quality rather than quantity: environmentally certified hotels, gentle mobility and local value creation ensure that this region remains liveable not only today but also tomorrow – for everyone who lives here and for those who visit it with respect. What at first glance may seem like small steps, when taken together, add up to a movement – and show how ideas become the future. In the following pages, we accompany you on this journey: from organic farming to water and energy to mobility and modern consumption.
