The best long weekends on the Costa Blanca in 2027

The calculations are based on a standard working week from Monday to Friday.

January: six days off, including two days’ holiday

New Year’s Day falls on Friday 1 January, and Epiphany on Wednesday 6 January.

Anyone who takes holiday on 4 and 5 January will have six days off from 1 to 6 January.

With two further days off on 7 and 8 January, this makes a total of ten days off from 1 to 10 January.

March: four days’ holiday mean eleven days off

March 2027 offers the best combination.

San José falls on Friday 19 March. This is followed a week later by Good Friday on 26 March and Easter Monday on 29 March.

Anyone who takes four days’ holiday from 22 to 25 March will have eleven days off from 19 to 29 March.

Even without taking holiday, Easter makes for a long weekend: there are four consecutive days off from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

Important: Maundy Thursday, 25 March, is not a public holiday in the Comunitat Valenciana in 2027.

October: four days off, including one day’s holiday

Spain’s National Day on 12 October falls on a Tuesday.

With a public holiday on Monday 11 October, this gives four days off from 9 to 12 October.

However, 9 October, the Day of the Comunitat Valenciana, falls on a Saturday in 2027.

November: a long weekend without taking holiday

All Saints’ Day on 1 November falls on a Monday. This automatically results in a long weekend from 30 October to 1 November.

December: five days off, including one day’s holiday

Constitution Day on 6 December falls on a Monday, and the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on 8 December falls on a Wednesday.

Anyone who takes Tuesday 7 December off will have five days off from 4 to 8 December.

With the additional days off on 9 and 10 December, this amounts to nine days off from 4 to 12 December.

Three public holidays fall on a Saturday in 2027

Less favourable dates are 1 May, 9 October and Christmas on 25 December. All three public holidays fall on a Saturday in 2027.

For employees who normally work from Monday to Friday, this does not result in an additional day off.

Two local bank holidays are added for each local authority

The regional public holiday calendar does not yet constitute the full calendar for the place where you live or work. Each local authority is also allocated two additional local public holidays.

That is why the public holidays may vary, for example, in Dénia, Xàbia, Calp, Altea, Benidorm, Alicante or Torrevieja.

Anyone planning a holiday should therefore also check the local public holidays for their place of work. For example, a local public holiday in Alicante does not automatically apply in Benidorm or Dénia.

The regional calendar is based on Decree 42/2026 of 20 March 2026, published on 25 March 2026 in the DOGV. It sets out the twelve public holidays applicable to the Comunitat Valenciana in 2027.
