Correos 2026 on the Costa Blanca - New letter and parcel prices

Correos 2026: New letter and parcel prices in Spain - overview of costs for Europe and the UK

Correos increases postage in Spain in 2026. Current prices for domestic, EU and UK postage, registered mail, parcels and forwarding orders - explained in compact form for residents on the Costa Blanca.

Spanish Post - Correos becomes more expensive - and more flexible
What the new Correos 2026 tariffs mean for residents between Dénia and Torrevieja

A letter from the authorities to Valencia. Contract documents to Germany. Christmas cards to England. What seems like a matter of course in everyday life has become a little more expensive since January 2026. Correos has raised letter postage rates - moderately, but noticeably for anyone who regularly sends mail.

The standard letter up to 20 grams now costs 0.96 euros instead of 0.86 euros. International postage within Europe will rise to 2.00 euros. This puts Spain in line with the European average - more favourable than some northern European countries, but no longer in the lower range.

Great Britain: own cost logic
Shipping to the United Kingdom is also relevant for many households on the Costa Blanca. Since Brexit, the UK has been treated as a third country in terms of tariffs. A standard letter up to 20 grams currently costs around 2.20 to 2.35 euros - depending on the weight category and additional options. Registered mail is correspondingly higher.

What's more, customs formalities apply to goods shipments. This not only makes shipping more expensive, but also extends delivery times in some cases. Anyone who regularly sends documents or smaller consignments to the UK should keep an eye on third country tariffs.

Registered mail and parcels: slight adjustment
Registered mail has also been adapted:

  • National up to 20 g: € 5.74
  • International Europe up to 20 g: € 7.15

In the parcel sector, the increases remain in the low single-digit percentage range. An EU parcel up to 1 kg costs 33.07 euros. The price structure remains comprehensibly calculable - there have been no major leaps.

More important than postage: the additional services
For many residents, it is not the individual cent that is decisive, but the organisation. Correos has made adjustments here in recent years.

Reenvío postal (forwarding order)

  • Forwarding within Spain or abroad
  • Flexible terms
  • Starting price from around 50 euros

This is a pragmatic solution, especially for relocations, second homes or longer stays abroad, until all address changes have been formally completed.

Apartado de Correos (PO Box)
For companies, seasonal owners or people with multiple residences, the PO box remains a stable option. Consignments are collected and held at the branch.

Digital delivery control
Online services can be used to redirect parcels at short notice - to pick-up points or alternative addresses. This does not replace a redirection order, but increases flexibility in everyday life.

Why prices are rising
Correos fulfils the universal postal service: delivery to every municipality, regardless of the actual volume of mail. At the same time, traditional letter volumes are falling, while personnel, energy and infrastructure costs are rising. The 2026 adjustment is therefore less a strategic change of course than a business consequence within a regulated system.

Classification for the Costa Blanca
Post remains reliable at Costablanca - but it is gradually becoming more expensive. The adjustment is hardly relevant for occasional senders. For the self-employed, property managers or internationally networked households, the changes add up.
The decisive factor is not so much the new postage rate as the question of how flexibly delivery can be organised today. This is precisely where the system is shifting: away from pure letterboxes and towards controllable, digitally supported solutions.
