La Vila Joiosa Town Council has begun the refurbishment of the pedestrian accesses from the seafront promenade to El Torres beach. The project, which will take over a month to complete, will involve removing the existing structures on the beach and carrying out extensive repairs to the affected access points.
A central element of the project is the installation of ramps to improve accessibility for bathers. In addition, the paving at the entrances will be repaired and the covers at the top of the wall and the fencing around the promenade will be renewed.
Another part of the project is the clean-up of the area near the mouth of the Torres River. The existing rubble will be removed and the area thoroughly cleaned and tidied up.
Mayor Marcos Zaragoza and the Councillor for Beaches, Carlos Soler, personally supervised the start of the work. Soler emphasised that the construction work will not disturb bathers or affect access to the beach, meaning that El Torres beach can continue to be used without any problems.
The aim of these measures is to make the beach promenade at La Vila Joiosa more attractive and accessible without affecting bathing activities.
