The Dénia Health Department will reinforce healthcare services in the main tourist areas of the Marina Alta from Tuesday, 25 June, with the opening of seasonal auxiliary clinics. These clinics are located on Arenal Beach in Xàbia/Javea and La Fossa in Calpe. The clinic in Les Marines in Dénia will begin operating at the beginning of July.
Last summer, in 2023, over 11,500 consultations were carried out at the summer clinics. The clinic in Calpe was the busiest, with more than 3,800 consultations, followed by Xàbia/Javea with almost 3,500 and Dénia with 2,800. August was the busiest month, with 5,000 consultations, as announced by the Dénia department in a press release.
The opening of the summer clinics is intended to ensure accessible healthcare for the population during the months with high tourist numbers and corresponding pressure on the healthcare system. These clinics bring medical care closer to residents and visitors to coastal areas during the summer months, avoiding long journeys to regular health centres. This also speeds up care in emergencies or minor incidents.
As in previous years, the advice centre is located in
In addition, the clinic in Moraira, which provides medical care throughout the year, will extend its opening hours until 6 p.m. between 1 July and 31 August.
With the opening of the summer clinics, the Dénia Health Department ensures that both residents and tourists have quick and easy access to medical care during the busy summer months. This measure significantly reduces the burden on regular health centres and improves medical care in the coastal regions of Marina Alta.
