The Costa Blanca is aptly named: the 200 kilometres of coastline between Dénia and Villajoyosa are lined with beaches that could hardly be more different - from wide sandy bays to rocky natural paradises and charming city beaches. Anyone who lives here or spends time here regularly knows: The true beauty of this coast is often revealed away from the postcard motifs.
Dénia offers two coastal faces at once: in the north the Playa de Les Marines - kilometres of fine sandy beach with space for walks, jogging or a relaxing afternoon with a sea view. In the south, around Les Rotes, rocky bays, turquoise waters and a rather tranquil atmosphere - perfect for snorkelling or quiet afternoons away from the hustle and bustle.
If you love nature, Jávea (Xàbia) is the place for you. The Playa del Arenal offers city comfort with a promenade, cafés and family friendliness. But the real highlights are hidden in the bays: Cala Granadella, which has been honoured several times as the most beautiful beach in Spain, or the Cala Barraca with its white fishermen's cottages and clear water. A must for snorkellers and photographers.

In Moraira, sophisticated coastal life meets Mediterranean restraint. The central Playa de l'Ampolla offers gentle waves and all amenities, while the Playa del Portet with its crescent-shaped bay and calm waters has an almost Caribbean feel. The surrounding area scores with small rocky bays such as the Cala Llebeig, which can be reached on foot - pure nature, without the crowds.
The beaches of Benissa are not classic sandy miles, but Small, intimate bays - embedded in rock, pine trees and cliffs. Cala Baladrar, Cala Advocat or Cala Pinets are ideal for those looking for peace and quiet. Those who like to be active can follow the coastal path between the bays and discover the landscape on foot.
Calpe offers the best of both worlds: two well-maintained City beaches with promenade - Playa Arenal-Bol and Playa de la Fossa - directly at the foot of the imposing Peñón de Ifach. Here you can enjoy sunsets with panoramic views and an excellent infrastructure. For quieter hours, it is worth making a detour to the Cala Calalga in the east of the city.
Altea is famous for its old town - but the coastal strip is also worth a visit. The Playa de l'Espigó offers space for walks and tranquillity, while smaller sections such as Playa Cap Blanch or La Roda are more popular with locals. Here, life doesn't take place in beach clubs - but on the promenade with a view of the church tower.
The beach of Albir is urban, clearly laid out and perfectly organised. As a pebble beach with Blue Flag excellent, it offers Excellent water quality, barrier-free access and relaxed catering right on the promenade. Ideal for those looking for a beach with order but without noise.
Benidorm is more than just a cliché: the Playa de Levante is vibrant, popular and offers urban comfort. The Playa de Poniente on the other hand, is wider, quieter and particularly popular with locals. In the centre: the small Cala Mal Pas with a view of the island of Benidorm - a real insider tip for short breaks.
Villajoyosa combines tradition and coastal life. The colourful houses on the beach are not a marketing gimmick, but part of the history. The Playa Centro offers family friendliness with maritime charm. The Playa Paraíso and the Cala del Torres are much quieter - with green surroundings and space to breathe.
Dénia is the first of the dog beaches on the Costa Blanca. The city council has made a beach available near the El Portet marina on the Escollera Norte breakwater.
The Les Urques dog beach is located in the popular holiday resort of Calpe on the Costa Blanca. It is rocky and somewhat secluded. The small bay is located by the Puerto Blanco marina.
In Altea, it is the bay of Olla that is open to dogs. The long bay is a pretty pebble beach close to several beach bars. Dogs and their owners can let off steam here on holiday on the Costa Blanca and enjoy a dip in the Mediterranean. Car parking is also available in the immediate vicinity of the beach.
The chocolate town of Villajoyosa with its idyllic bays also has a Costa Blanca dog beach. Here, four-legged friends can spend their holiday by the sea at Playa El Charco.
