As soon as you enter Beniasia, it becomes clear that the usual clichés of an Asian restaurant are banned here. No red lanterns, no golden dragons – instead, clean lines, lots of wood and an open, inviting atmosphere. The dining area has a modern feel, and the large terrace is perfect for long summer evenings. Add to that a team that is friendly, attentive and pleasantly unobtrusive – you immediately feel welcome without it seeming stiff.
The menu? A culinary adventure that deliberately goes beyond the expected. Alongside classics such as sushi and gyoza, there are dishes you wouldn't expect to find here: oysters in tempura, fried scallops, crispy seaweed and croquetas caseras with duck. Even the starters show that someone with courage and creativity is at work here. The main courses are also anything but routine – from classic Peking duck of outstanding quality, noodles with crisp organic vegetables and chicken in Thai green curry to perfectly cooked beef fillet with sha-cha sauce. The quality of the ingredients is consistently high.
Sushi lovers will also find exciting variations here – such as the „Uromaki Albufera“ roll with eel or the „Foie“ nigiri with duck liver. The rice is cooked to perfection, the fish is fresh and aromatic – and, as with everything at Beniasia, a lot of love has gone into the details.
And then the sweet finale: instead of baked banana or sticky rice, the team brings a dessert tray to the table, laden with little works of art such as hazelnut tartlets and passion fruit crowns. A finale that is more reminiscent of a French pâtisserie than an Asian restaurant – and that is precisely what makes it so special.
A wine cellar as an additional gem
Right next to the restaurant, the Huang family runs their own wine cellar with an international selection – from top Spanish wines to champagnes such as André Robert Blanc de Blancs. The focus on wine is unusual for an Asian restaurant and makes Beniasia a place where you can enjoy the perfect accompaniment to your meal.
Our conclusion: Beniasia in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell is a culinary journey that will delight more than just fans of Asian cuisine. Anyone who fancies cuisine with Asian roots, international standards and great attention to detail should definitely take a seat here – even if it means making a slight detour. Thanks to its combination of modern atmosphere, creative dishes, excellent product quality and exceptional value for money, Beniasia belongs on every culinary to-do list in the region.
