Euroclub Dénia – 39 years of community and joie de vivre

Euroclub Dénia celebrates 39 years: activities, lectures, sports and social evenings for residents and friends of the Costa Blanca.

There are places where community is not just a word, but a living reality. One of these is the Euroclub Dénia (ECD) – for almost four decades a meeting place for people who want to enjoy life, discover new things and share time together. The ECD now has around 500 members from ten countries and will celebrate its 39th anniversary in 2025.

A club with heart and attitude
The Euroclub is open, international and yet firmly rooted in the region. The club language is German – but anyone who enjoys communicating in this language is welcome. Whether you are a resident, part-time Spaniard or newcomer to the Costa Blanca: here you will find people who share the same enjoyment of meeting others, chatting and doing things together.
„For us, it's all about togetherness,“ emphasises President Vassilios Patsias, who, together with a newly formed board, is bringing a breath of fresh air to club life – without losing sight of what has been tried and tested. „We want to continue what has always defined the Euroclub Dénia: openness, joie de vivre and respect. At the same time, we want to set new impulses – with exciting topics, new ideas and more room for active participation.“

Proven concepts revitalised
Anyone familiar with the Euroclub knows that Tuesday is club night! Every week at the ISA restaurant in Las Marinas (km 8.8), people laugh, dance, chat and simply enjoy spending time together. Whether it's music, lectures, games or readings, the programme is as varied as the members themselves.

Active in motion – in every respect
The Euroclub Dénia is more than just a meeting place: it is a network for curious, athletic, creative and fun-loving people. Everyone can find something to suit them in the numerous activity groups – whether it's cycling, hiking, gymnastics, travelling or the computer group.

Friendships are formed here that extend far beyond the club. „People come for the activities – and stay for the people,“ says activity group leader Anja Ohrem, summarising the recipe for success.

A team that gets things done
The board combines experience and a spirit of optimism in equal measure. Alongside President Vassilios Patsias, Beat Auer (treasurer), Ruth Egli (secretary) and Daniela Patsias (press officer) bring fresh ideas and commitment to the table. They are supported by a dedicated extended team led by Trudi Eder and Kerstin Kleine-Rahn, who shape club life with their creativity and organisational skills.
„We want to open up the Euroclub further – to new members, new topics and new encounters,“ says Daniela Patsias. „Especially on the Costa Blanca, where many people are starting afresh, the club is a social anchor and a place where you can feel at home.“

39 years old – and still going strong
With few exceptions, the club meets every Tuesday at the ISA restaurant in Els Poblets – a place that has long been inextricably linked to the Euroclub. The owner of ISA, which is actually closed on Tuesdays, opens his restaurant especially for the club evenings, creating a permanent meeting place full of warmth and atmosphere. No registration is necessary: between 40 and 100 members meet regularly to eat together, listen to interesting lectures or simply enjoy each other's company.
Here, networking without social media is a way of life – genuine, personal and with an open ear for one another. Many long-standing members are also valuable contacts for tips, information and support in everyday life. An evening at the Euroclub – it's Facebook without the net, but with heart and community.
Anyone who would like to join in the celebrations, take part or simply come along and see what it's all about is very welcome – from 7.30 pm at the ISA restaurant, Las Marinas km 8.8 in Dénia.
