Severe DANA devastates Valencia: Solidarity grows in the Marina Baixa

With at least 202 fatalities, the clean-up work in Valencia is in full swing, while numerous communities in the Marina Baixa are launching relief operations.

The municipalities of the Marina Baixa are showing unprecedented solidarity in the face of the disaster. The town halls are setting up collection centres for urgently needed relief supplies, which are being transported to the worst affected areas of Valencia. In Benidorm donations can be handed in at the Palau d'Esports L'Illa de Benidorm on 2 and 3 November, including water, milk, non-perishable food, shoes and toiletries.

La Vila Joiosa accepts donations daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the police station (Avda. Pianista Gonzalo). Water, tinned food, cleaning products and toiletries are urgently needed. La Nucia has set up the Camilo Cano pavilion and other locations as collection points.

Technical assistance such as mobile water tanks from HIdraqua and operations by the local police in the affected areas demonstrate the commitment of the entire region to support those affected.
