Golf on the Costa Blanca - playing through the low season

Auf dem Green durch die Nebensaison

Year-round golf on Spain's sunny coast: a mild climate, top courses and tournaments make the Costa Blanca a meeting point for golfers from all over Europe.

Of course, golf is also on our list. People play here when the courses close elsewhere. Between Dénia, Jávea, Altea and Benidorm, there are more than a dozen courses that are used all year round - by residents with season tickets as well as holidaymakers who come specifically for the sport.

Climate as the key
From November to March, temperatures are usually between 16 and 22 degrees and rain is rare. This is precisely what makes the region so attractive to players from all over Europe. While there is a winter break in Germany or Scandinavia, the fairways fill up here.

Places with character
La Sella near Dénia combines golf with a view of the Montgó, Villaitana Golf in Benidorm has two 18-hole courses directly above the skyline,

The Club de Golf Ifach in Moraira scores with shorter rounds in a panoramic location.
There are differences not only in the landscape, but also in the layout: from compact 9-hole courses to international tournament courses.

Sport and encounters
Golf clubs are places where languages and cultures come together. Spanish, English or German can be heard on the fairways - a reflection of the international resident and holidaymaker community. For many, golf is therefore both a sport and a social network.
