The Costa Blanca offers numerous beaches that are specially tailored to the needs of people with reduced mobility.
The barrier-free facilities are accessible for disabled persons and are usually available from July to September, in some cases a reservation is required.
All beaches have wooden walkways, adapted sanitary facilities and amphibious wheelchairs.
Playa del Arenal is the only sandy beach in Jávea to offer comprehensive barrier-free facilities. A specially equipped area in the southern section of the beach is looked after by the local Red Cross station and provides amphibious wheelchairs and walking aids. There are also adapted toilets with shower and changing facilities. The free service is available daily from 11:00 to 19:00 between 1 July and 15 September, but requires a reservation.
This extensive sandy beach in the north of Dénia is characterised by its peaceful atmosphere and gently sloping access to the sea. Wooden walkways lead right up to the water's edge, while adapted sanitary facilities and designated disabled parking spaces increase comfort.
Here, bathing autonomy takes centre stage. A wide wooden ramp leads directly into the water and special amphibious crutches enable independent wading. Special feature: a children's amphibious chair for young bathers. Barrier-free toilets and car parks complete the offer.
A fully equipped barrier-free zone with amphibious chairs and water walking aids awaits you near Calle Llevant. Lifeguards will accompany you into the sea on request. Barrier-free showers and nearby disabled parking spaces ensure comfort.
This beach offers two completely barrier-free bathing areas with extra-wide wooden walkways and step-free access. During the summer season, specially trained staff provide assistance with the use of amphibious wheelchairs, which can be borrowed free of charge.
The newest barrier-free section of beach boasts a wooden ramp down to the water's edge and awnings for shade. Two amphibious wheelchairs for adults and one children's amphibious chair are available.
