Five of the most child-friendly beaches on the Costa Blanca

Die fünf kinderfreundlichsten Strände der Costa Blanca

Sandcastles, fun and safety

Where can the little ones splash around carefree? Which beach offers the best play opportunities? We present the five most family-friendly sandy beaches
of the Costa Blanca that leave nothing to be desired for children.

Playa de Poniente, Benidorm

The 3-kilometre-long beach boasts fine sand and wide spaces that never seem overcrowded, even in high season. Six children's play areas directly on the beach and the shaded natural play area „Zona Infantil Tamarindos“ are real highlights for the little ones. The water quality, which has been awarded the Blue Flag, and five lifeguard towers ensure safety. Particularly practical: the barrier-free access makes the beach easily accessible with pushchairs.

Playa de la Fossa, Calpe

This sandy beach with crystal-clear water stretches out beneath the impressive Penyal d'Ifac rock. The gradually deepening seabed allows even small children to splash around safely. The play equipment right on the beach provides variety when building sandcastles gets boring. The nearby cafés with children's menus on the promenade offer refreshing breaks.

Playa del Arenal, Jávea

This picturesque sandy beach has been awarded the Blue Flag several times, an international seal of approval for high environmental and quality standards. In addition to sunbathing and swimming, visitors can also hire pedal boats or take part in organised water sports activities. There are playgrounds for children and volleyball nets and fitness areas for sports enthusiasts. The promenade offers numerous family-friendly restaurants and ice cream parlours for a refreshing break between beach activities.

Playa Centro, Villajoyosa

An insider tip in the „chocolate city“! The 1.3 km long and 30 m wide beach is less crowded than the tourist strongholds. The large, free car park right next door saves you having to lug your beach gear around. The colourful half-timbered houses as a backdrop enchant children and parents alike. The hidden playgrounds on the edge of the promenade are just waiting to be discovered.

Playa Las Marinas, Dénia

To the north of Dénia is the Las Marinas coastal area with its fine sandy beaches. This area is particularly attractive for families: the sea is sheltered from the wind and crystal clear, and the beach stretches for kilometres straight ahead. One highlight is a floating water platform with slides and play equipment, which is open from July. This can be reached from Assagador de Sant Pere beach.
