Calpe implements strict noise protection regulations for the summer: construction work limited in time

Calpe Town Council has once again implemented an important ordinance to reduce noise during the summer period. This regulation, which restricts the use of heavy machinery and construction equipment, aims to provide residents and visitors with a quiet and relaxing environment.

Regulations for noise reduction

To ensure peace and quiet during the summer months, the ordinance prohibits all types of construction work in residential areas in August. In July and September, work that can cause noise is restricted in terms of time. Specifically, construction work may only be carried out between 9 am and 2 pm and between 5 pm and 8 pm. Excluded from these restrictions are urgent works or works in the public interest that must be carried out for reasons of necessity or danger.

All types of development, construction and extension work are prohibited on municipal land that may be used for residential purposes throughout the month of August. Only minor work that does not cause noise nuisance or disturbance to neighbours is permitted.

Noise reduction measures

The ordinance distinguishes between different activities that can cause noise and offers solutions to minimise the impact of noise. With these measures, the city council wants to ensure that construction and leisure activities are compatible with the right of residents and visitors to peace and quiet.

Appeal to the citizens

Calpe Town Hall is appealing to citizens to comply with the ordinance and thus contribute to the observance of quiet hours. Especially in a municipality with a strong tourist character, it is important that the tourist season runs without noise pollution.

This regulation emphasises the commitment of Calpe Town Council to create a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere during the summer months, while at the same time keeping the necessary construction work on track.
