Hier groeien n\u00edsperos, wordt rijst verbouwd en drogen druiven tot sultanarozijnen. In beide regio's is landbouw niet alleen een bron van levensonderhoud, maar een identiteit - en het is juist deze alledaagsheid die het zo bijzonder maakt.<\/p><p><strong>Gouden vruchten van Callosa<\/strong><br \/>De Marina Baixa is de geboorteplaats van een vrucht die al lang een exportster is: de n\u00edspero. Miljoenen van deze kleine, oranjekleurige vruchten rijpen elke lente in Callosa d'en Sarri\u00e0. Wat ooit een lokale specialiteit was, is nu een internationaal gewild product, georganiseerd door de co\u00f6peratie Ruchey, die boeren en markten met elkaar verbindt.<\/p><p><strong>Rijst van de Marjal de Pego<\/strong><br \/>Een paar kilometer verder naar het noorden, in de Marina Alta, wordt een oude traditie nieuw leven ingeblazen: de teelt van Arroz Bomb\u00f3n in het natuurpark Marjal de Pego-Oliva. Ooit bijna verdwenen, heeft de vari\u00ebteit een comeback gemaakt dankzij projecten zoals Pego Natura. In het verleden waren gedroogde Moscatel-druiven een belangrijke industrie. Vandaag de dag herinneren de riuraus, de traditionele drooggebouwen, nog aan dit tijdperk. In plaatsen als Jes\u00fas Pobre leeft de traditie voort in de \u201eMercat del Riurau\u201c (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercatdelriurau.org\/mercat-del-riurau\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.mercatdelriurau.org\/mercat-del-riurau\/<\/a>) elke zondag - tussen marktkraampjes, culturele programma's en de geur van druiven.<\/p><p><strong>Citrusvruchten en amandelen<\/strong><br \/>De eindeloze citrusplantages en amandelboomgaarden zijn onlosmakelijk met beide regio's verbonden. Ze zijn niet alleen kenmerkend voor het landschap, maar ook voor veel specialiteiten - van vers sinaasappelsap tot zoete turr\u00f3n, waarvoor amandelen onmisbaar zijn.<br \/>De landbouw van de Marina Alta en Marina Baixa is dan ook veel meer dan alleen maar bevoorrading.
