Not only has a diverse art scene long since established itself on the Costa Blanca - the stages for music, theatre and dance also set standards. In Marina Alta and Marina Baixa, auditoriums, open-air arenas and cultural centres shape the image of a region where culture not only takes place, but is lived.<\/p>

Big stages, big variety: <\/strong>Auditoriums as cultural centres<\/strong>
The Palau Altea is a modern cultural centre in the heart of Altea. With almost 1,000 seats, it offers space for international concert series, theatre productions and exhibitions. The stylistic diversity in particular makes the venue a cultural driving force in the region: symphony concerts, jazz nights, ballet, modern theatre - the programme is as international as it is ambitious. Artists from all over Europe regularly perform here, often as part of major festivals or in collaboration with renowned ensembles.<\/p>

Architecturally, the Auditori Teulada-Moraira is a work of art in its own right. The building, designed by Francisco Mangado, is reminiscent of an open book or a ship in motion - a symbol of new beginnings and cultural openness. The centre focuses on high-calibre music - from classical chamber music to flamenco fusion and contemporary formats. Special attention is paid to the promotion of young talent: workshops, youth festivals and masterclasses bring together international stars and young talents.<\/p>

In La Nuc\u00eda, the Auditori de la Mediterr\u00e0nia focuses on versatility: classical concerts meet musicals, modern dance projects meet major pop events. Concert series such as the \u201eCiclos de Grandes Int\u00e9rpretes\u201c bring renowned soloists to La Nuc\u00eda and make the auditorium a meeting place for music lovers of all generations. At the same time, the theatre offers regional choirs, dance groups and youth orchestras the opportunity to perform on a professional stage.<\/p>

Smaller cultural venues such as the Centro d'Art Taller d'Ivars in Benissa or the Espai d'Art Contemporani in D\u00e9nia also set their own accents - with chamber concerts, readings and experimental art projects in direct dialogue with the public.

Concerts in the open air: <\/strong>The arena in Benidorm<\/strong>
In addition to the permanent stages, the Benidorm Arena takes centre stage in the summer. The former bullring has developed into one of the most important open-air stages in the region in recent years. International pop stars, rock legends and major DJ festivals such as the Reggaeton Beach Festival or the Benidorm Summer Nights provide unforgettable open-air concert nights here. Classic crossover concerts and dance events also delight a wide-ranging audience.<\/p>

The Benidorm Arena impressively demonstrates that culture on the Costa Blanca is no longer limited to concert halls. What many people don't realise: Almost every town and municipality on the Costa Blanca now has its own auditorium or cultural centre. From small multi-purpose halls to elaborately designed event venues - cultural life here is livelier and more diverse than it seems at first glance.
It is therefore worthwhile for locals and visitors alike to regularly take a look at the local events calendar. Real cultural highlights often take place right on your doorstep - be it a classical concert, a modern theatre play or a film evening in the open air.
The programme is complemented by film festivals, such as the Festival de Cine Alfaz del Pi, where international and regional productions are shown on the big screen - often accompanied by talks with filmmakers and small open-air events.<\/p>

Whether in sophisticated auditoriums, on the open-air stage or at a film festival - culture is not a casual offering on the Costa Blanca, but part of everyday life. Music, theatre, dance and film are not only an attraction for visitors, but also shape the self-image of the entire region.<\/p>

\u25b6 Festival de Cine de L'Alf\u00e0s del Pi<\/strong>
The festival celebrates its 37th edition from 5 to 13 July 2025. Spanish short films will take centre stage, competing for the prestigious \u201eFaro de Plata\u201c. In addition to the main prize, awards will be presented in categories such as animation, Valencian short film and \u201eHuellas de Mujer\u201c for works with a female perspective. The events take place in the Casa de Cultura and offer a varied supporting programme with concerts, exhibitions and talks.
