This festival, deeply rooted in the region's tradition, commemorates the historic battles between Moors and Christians on the Iberian Peninsula. With splendid costumes, impressive parades, thrilling music and impressive pyrotechnic displays, the festival captivates locals and visitors alike.<\/p><p>The festival begins with an impressive parade in which the \u201efilaes\u201c (festive groups) parade through the streets in their majestic costumes. The armies of the crescent and the hosts of the cross march into the city centre accompanied by the sound of drums and the stamping of horses' hooves. Falconers ride along proudly, while the standard-bearer presents the flag of the Moors and Christians Association on his carriage. The music, an essential part of the procession, emphasises the dramatic atmosphere and brings history to life in a fascinating way.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bf1de78 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"bf1de78\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f3a6ec9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f3a6ec9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A highlight of the festivities is the flower offering in honour of the patron saint Sant Jaume Apostol.
