Rental prices for holiday homes in popular coastal resorts in the province have risen by 6 to 12 per cent this summer. Particularly affected are the beaches of San Juan in Alicante and Levante in Benidorm, where a week's holiday in August costs around 1,500 euros.<\/p>\n\n

If you are holidaying on the Costa Blanca this summer, you should plan to pay considerably more, as beaches such as San Juan and Levante in particular are seeing double-digit rent increases in some cases. <\/p>\n\n\n

According to a recent report by the valuation company Tecnicasa, rents in the tourist hotspots of the Costa Blanca have become significantly more expensive. Travellers who have not yet booked accommodation will now have to dig deeper into their pockets.<\/p>

Leader in rental prices<\/strong><\/p>

  • \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 San Juan Beach, Alicante: A 75-square-metre flat costs an average of \u20ac1,530 per week in August. This beach is particularly popular with local holidaymakers.<\/li>
  • \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Levante Beach, Benidorm: A 70-square-metre flat costs 1,500 euros per week. Poniente Beach in Benidorm is slightly cheaper at 1,380 euros for a 65-square-metre flat.<\/li><\/ul>

    Growing popularity of Poniente \u2013 Poniente Beach is becoming more attractive every year. New construction projects have increased the number of available holiday apartments, which has led to a rise in demand and, consequently, prices.<\/p>

    Other expensive beach regions<\/strong><\/p>

    • \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 La Vila Joiosa, Marina Baixa: A 70-square-metre flat in the front row costs 1,055 euros per week, while in La Cala the price is 910 euros.<\/li>
    • \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Marina Alta: In D\u00e9nia and X\u00e0bia, 70-square-metre flats cost 600 and 660 euros per week respectively in August. Calp offers similar properties for 575 euros per week.<\/li><\/ul>

      Vega Baja and other popular destinations<\/strong><\/p>

      In Vega Baja, Pilar de la Horadada and Torrevieja are the most expensive places. An 80-square-metre flat costs around \u00a31,220 per week in Torre de la Horadada, while in Torrevieja, prices for a 70-square-metre flat range from \u00a3695 to \u00a3975.<\/p>

      Santa Pola, also a popular destination, has average rental prices of \u20ac1,190 per week for a 75-square-metre flat.<\/p>

      National price increase<\/strong><\/p>

      Across Spain, rental prices have risen by an average of 9.95%. A week in August now costs an average of \u20ac1,160, compared to \u20ac1,055 last year. The most expensive regions, such as the Balearic Islands and Marbella, have prices above \u20ac3,000 per week, while the cheapest flats in the Valencian Community are available from \u20ac500 per week.<\/p>
