Anyone who moves their place of residence to the Costa Blanca - whether to D\u00e9nia, J\u00e1vea, Calpe, Benidorm or La Zenia - must also reassess their own vehicle: a car registered in Germany may not be permanently driven in Spain with foreign licence plates. The deadline for re-registration begins at the latest after official registration as a resident.<\/p>

The Spanish authorities carry out rigorous checks here. Anyone who does not register their vehicle properly risks fines, immobilisation or problems with the insurance company in the event of damage.<\/p>

The original vehicle documents and - if available - the European Certificate of Conformity (CoC) are required. After a successful inspection, the Spanish technical data card is issued.<\/li><\/ol>
