Teulada is the original capital of the municipality of the same name, Teulada-Moraira. Teulada is a historically grown town with an agricultural character that has served as a market centre since the Middle Ages. The expansion towards the coast only began in the 20th century with the rise of Moraira. Teulada itself remained structured, with a low building volume, close social networking and municipal control. The historic centre of Teulada is well preserved and exudes an authentic Valencian atmosphere.
