The municipality of Alfaz del Pi, nestled between the mountains and the Mediterranean, is one of the most international places on the Costa Blanca. Around half of the inhabitants come from Northern Europe - an international flair - above all from Norway, Great Britain, the Netherlands and German-speaking countries. Nevertheless, Alfaz del Pi is not an artificially grown expat hotspot, but a town with an established structure, Mediterranean identity and a culture that both locals and newcomers actively help to shape.<\/p>

Alfaz del Pi was originally a small agricultural village that grew steadily from the 20th century onwards. With the arrival of many international residents - particularly from Norway, the Netherlands and Germany - the municipality developed into an international residential centre with a functioning infrastructure and high standard of living. The administration attached great importance to integration, bilingualism and the expansion of public facilities, including international schools, cultural centres and medical care.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the old town centre of Alfaz del Pi, the church of San Jos\u00e9 dominates the townscape. Surrounding it is a network of small alleyways, squares with orange trees, tapas bars and local shops - a slice of authentic Spain. The famous pine tree (\u201epi\u201c) in the town hall square not only gives the municipality its name, but is also a popular photo motif and a symbol of stability and roots in the region.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The cultural year in Alfaz del Pi is varied and much more than just a tourist backdrop. The International Film Festival (Festival de Cine) in July is outstanding, attracting film-makers from all over Spain - with premieres, award ceremonies and open-air screenings in Albir.<\/p>
